nPDP quit threat: Odigie-Oyegun fixes meeting with Buhari %Post Title

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has fixed a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and members of the New Peoples Democratic Party block within the APC, Vanguard newspaper is reporting.

The members of the nPDP had issued a quit threat from the APC if they were unable to meet Buhari within seven days.

The threat was contained in a letter to Odigie-Oyegun by the National Chairman and Secretary of the nPDP, Kawu Baraje and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

Buhari was away in the United Kingdom for medical treatment when the threat was issued last week.

With about 48 hours to the expiration of the deadline, Vanguard is reporting that Odigie-Oyegun has secured a time for the meeting with President Buhari.

He was said to have had a scheduled meeting with the President on Saturday, with the nPDP issue and the crisis that emanated from the ward and local government area congresses expected to dominate discussions.

A source at the party secretariat, however, told Vanguard that it was doubtful if the meeting held.

President Buhari returned to the country 24 four hours ahead of the expected arrival date on Friday.
