Apex Igbo Organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has stated that it has not officially endorsed any Presidential Candidate yet.
It will be recalled that the organization made headlines recently when it hosted the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in Enugu, with reports suggesting the group had endorsed him.
But speaking to newsmen on Monday in Enugu, the group’s Spokesman, Mr Chuks Ibegbu said that the group will formally declare support for a candidate in January 2019.
He also warned INEC against any form of electoral malfeasance calling on voters to vote and secure their votes.
“Nobody should take Nigerians for a ride this time with fake promises,” Ibegbu noted.
He insisted that Ohanaeze has not yet adopted or endorsed any Presidential candidate but will meet early in January to decide on Igbo political trajectory and direction.
