We no longer have Mike Tyson, Mickey Mouse or Charles Taylor on voter register- INEC %Post Title
The Independent National Electoral Commission says the voter register has been cleansed such that fake identities like Mike Tyson and Mickey Mouse no longer exist therein.

The Director for Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, said this during an interview on Channels Television programme, ‘Tech Trends’ on Thursday.

When asked the importance of technology in the electoral process, he said, “Operationally, we all know what technology has done. The voter card has a chip inside; it is all driven by technology.

“The electronic register of voters is a more accurate form of vote register that captures your biometric data. So we no longer have bogus registers where you have the Mike Tysons or Mickey Mouse or such people on our register.

“So, it has been purified, has greater integrity and it is one in a series of technological innovations. After voter register, we have the voter card which contains your biometric. So, those days that one person holds 12 voter cards are no longer possible because this contains your biometric, photographs and we have the card reader which reads your PVC.”

The INEC director admitted that the card reader was not a perfect device.

He, however, added that the use of the card reader would continue to improve the process of voting. (Punch)
