Roman Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries Enugu, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, has asked Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari to continue the war against corruption.
Mbaka, who stated this in his New Year prophetic message for 2019, said a president fighting corruption deserves the people’s support.
Mbaka said he was supporting Buhari to complete his remaining four years in office to complete the good work he already started.
He said Catholic Church supports the fight against corruption, the reason the church created a prayer against bribery and corruption.
The cleric noted that he likes calling people thief in the media, but Buhari is not a thief.
Mbaka urged Nigerians to vote for President Buhari because nobody understands the country’s problem like him.
Mbaka said Buhari has changed and nobody was hearing about herdsmen and bandits in the country anymore, adding that he had never seen a President with agricultural programme like President Buhari.
He recalled that for 16 years, the road leading from Enugu to Anambra was overgrown by weeds, but now it has been reconstructed alongside the one leading to Umuahia.
He said it was wrong for anybody to compare Buhari’s three years, during which he was sick and healed, with the 16 years of somebody who did nothing, and prayed for four more years for him to complete eight years in office.
Mbaka, however, charged Nigerians to pray hard to overcome an unimaginable difficulty they are going to face this year.
“The type of difficulty the country is going to face is such that has not been witnessed in the history of the country,” he said.
Mbaka also praised Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the peace in Enugu State, saying the state never had it so good.
He said, “It shall be well with you (Ugwuanyi). His name is wealth reach home. May God bless him. I will not greet everyone without praying for our governor and friend, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. We bless God for him.
“Enugu has never seen it like this. For the first time in the history of Enugu, the Black Axe and Vikings are not fighting. Only a man like him that can do it.
“He said that Enugu State is in the hands of God. He believes in God and we have to hand him over to God because Enugu is in peace. There is no other state in this country that can have this kind of peace.
“The governor has unit leaders of different denominations. He doesn’t discriminate. No community is marginalised. He loves the youth. Generations will not forget you. Adoration Ministry will not forget you.
“Such person that is doing well, we will tell him to continue doing good. I pray for God’s protection in his life. If it is endorsement you call it, it is your word. I am appealing to those who are coming to contest that they shouldn’t come out because those who want to contest, when they were in Senate, they did nothing. They are a disgrace in their father’s house.
“Those who are coming to contest know that Ugwuanyi is a good man otherwise they should be imprisoned. I pray that Senator Ayogu Eze should go and rest. He should not contest for anything.
“He should not come to disorganize the state that has been rebuilt. As he is going to rest, let it be well with him in the name of Jesus Christ so that after election he will be given an appointment and he will go to Abuja,” Mbaka said.
“If you come to Ebonyi, we hand Ebonyi State governor to the hand of God, may he protect him. David Umahi, it shall be well with you.
“It shall be well with you, years ago if you go to Ebonyi, the state looks like ghetto but if you go there now, David Umahi has transformed Ebonyi. May God protect him to continue the good work.
“It is not about politics whoever that come should complete it to the end. We also pray for Governor Willie Obiano. He has provided security in Anambra. If you want death, go and kidnap someone in Anambra. None has done like Governor Obiano may God protect him,” Mbaka said.
