Tinubu summons former Rivers sole administrator Ibas to Aso Rock
President Bola Tinubu has summoned Ibok-Ete Ibas, the immediate past sole administrator of Rivers state, to the State House in Abuja.
Ibas arrived at the State House on Wednesday around 5:50 pm.
Ola Olukoyede, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and Wale Edun, minister of finance, were also seen arriving at the villa around the same time.
TheCable could not ascertain the agenda of the meeting at the time of this report.
On March 18, Tinubu imposed emergency rule on Rivers state due to an escalating political crisis.
He also suspended Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state; his deputy, Ngozi Odu; and all members of the Rivers assembly for an initial period of six months.
The president appointed Ibas, a retired naval chief, as the state’s sole administrator.
The six-month emergency rule ended on September 17, as Fubara was asked to resume as governor of the state the following day.
When the Rivers assembly resumed plenary, the lawmakers resolved to investigate the management of the state’s finances during the six-month emergency rule.
However, Ibas rejected the resolution of the Rivers assembly.(The Cable)
