“I Have No Faith in Tinubu’s Government” — Another Bayelsa Lawmaker Refuses to Join APC
Deputy Chief Whip of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ted Elemeforo, has openly declared that he has no faith in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The lawmaker stated firmly that he will not be joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that the party has failed to offer credible leadership to Nigerians.
Speaking on ARISE TV’s NewsNight on Wednesday, Elemeforo said his decision was based on conviction and not political sentiment.
He maintained that the ruling APC has not provided any meaningful solution to the problems facing the country.
“I think they will speak for themselves. But for myself, I think it’s a question of conviction because I do not believe that APC is a solution to Nigeria’s problem. And I do not have faith in the Tinubu-led APC government,” he stated.
The Bayelsa lawmaker, who represents the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), further argued that the opposition party remains a better alternative for Nigeria’s progress.
According to him, “PDP can, PDP will offer a better alternative to solve the problem of Nigeria.”
Elemeforo also criticized the ruling party for what he described as “double standards and hypocrisy” in handling national issues.
The lawmaker recalled how those who protested against fuel subsidy under former President Goodluck Jonathan are now defending the same policy under the current administration.
He continued, “People like Tinubu that protested against oil subsidies and all that need to publicly apologize to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for implementing what he condemned earlier.”
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Elemeforo’s comments come amid political realignments in Bayelsa State following Governor Duoye Diri’s recent defection from the PDP to the APC on Wednesday, along with several members of the State House of Assembly.
