Falz Calls for President Tinubu’s Resignation After Niger School Abduction
Popular rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign following the abduction of over 100 students from a school in Niger State.
Armed attackers stormed St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area, in the early hours of 21 November, abducting dozens of students and staff.
The Niger State Police have confirmed the raid and said tactical units, military forces, and other security agencies are combing nearby forests in an ongoing rescue operation.
State authorities also criticised the school for resuming activities without government clearance despite earlier security warnings.
Falz, in a post on his verified social media account, condemned the attack and demanded accountability, writing, “You have failed woefully @officialABAT tender your resignation now!”
The kidnap adds to a series of recent attacks on schools and rural communities across the north, where residents say terrorists continue to move freely despite ongoing military operations.
Authorities had yet to release the number of abducted victims as of press time.
