Woman Murdered On Way To Market Near FCT
A resident of Dazhi village, Danlami Yakubu, said the incident occurred on Tuesday, when the woman was attacked by the assailants while on her way to Gadabuke market.
He said the assailants allegedly stabbed the woman in the neck before fleeing with her phone.
According to him, some villagers, who later discovered the woman’s corpse, reported the incident to the police at Gadabuke.
“So, the police, upon receiving the information, quickly mobilized to the scene where the corpse of the woman was found lying inside the bush by the roadside,” he said.
The chairman of Toto LGA, Alhaji Ahmed Baba Yahaya, confirmed the incident when he spoke with our reporter through the telephone on Thursday.
He said he was saddened when he received the report of the gruesome murder of the yet-to-be-identified Fulani woman, adding that he has directed the security operatives to fish out those behind such a dastardly act.
“I actually visited the scene in the company of the security operatives where I later addressed members of the community at the village head’s palace and charged them to cooperate with the security agents by sharing useful information that would aid them in fishing out those behind such an act,” he said.
The council chairman, who condoled with the family of the deceased, expressed his administration’s determination to protect the lives and property of all residents of the council.
A police source at the Gadabuke division, who preferred anonymity, also confirmed the incident, saying the police are already investigating the matter.(Daily trust)
