Edo Assembly Summons 2baba’s Wife Over Controversial Video
The Edo State House of Assembly has given member representing Egor constituency, Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, one week to appear before its ethics and privileges committee over a controversial video with her husband.
The House alleged that the lawmaker’s action brought the assembly to public disrepute.
The Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, who announced this during Tuesday’s plenary, described the lawmaker’s action as embarrassing.
He lamented that the lawmaker who is now married to a Nigeria international singer, Innocent Ujah Idibia, with the stage name “2Baba”, had been dragging the name of the house in the mud for too long.
Racall that in a recent viral video, Natasha was heard arguing with her husband inside a shop in London, while shouting, “Don’t do that!”
In the video, she was heard shouting, “Don’t do it. Don’t fucking do it! Na everyday you go dey shout for me? Wetin dey happen? Why are you raising your voice at me?”
Agbebaku said, “For the past one week, she has been, let me use the word, trending negatively, both on electronic media and social media platforms. Television such as TVC, Silverbird, and other television stations.
“Distinguished Members, of recent, this Honourable House, with celebral and highly educated members, have been dragged to the mud for too long by our colleague, Honorable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru.
“We want to let the public know that this House is a decent and reputable House. In Nigeria, as a whole, this House is the best House. That is the truth.
“But we have responsible members in this House. Intelligent members in this House. Members that know what they are doing. So the attitude or the misconduct of a member cannot drag the House to disrepute”, he said.
He, however, directed the embattled lawmaker to appear before the Ethics and Privileges Committee within one week to explain why she is allegedly dragging the name of the house in the mud.
Daily Trust reports that the committee was given two weeks to submit its report.(Daily trust)
