Tinubu in Closed-Door Meeting with Security Chiefs
President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with heads of Nigeria’s security agencies at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting comes barely 24 hours after the resignation of Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru.
The security gathering is being led by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede. Also in attendance are Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General W. Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke; and Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral I. Abbas.
Other top officials present include the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Lt. General Emmanuel Undiandeye; Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Ajayi; and Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.
The meeting comes amid escalating security challenges across the country. As of the time of filing this report, no details of the discussions had been released to the press.
Earlier reported by Politics Nigeria, President Tinubu had announced the nomination of former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, to replace Badaru as Minister of Defence.
