Tinubu Reacts to Senate’s Confirmation of Gen. Musa as Defence Minister
President Bola Tinubu has welcomed the Senate’s confirmation of General Christopher Musa as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence.
In a statement personally signed and shared on his X handle on Thursday, Tinubu praised the Senate for swiftly approving Musa’s appointment.
The President described Musa’s appointment as timely, given the current security challenges facing the nation.
“Two days ago, I transmitted the name of General Christopher G. Musa, our immediate past Chief of Defence Staff and a fine gentleman, to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as the Federal Minister of Defence.
“I want to commend the Nigerian Senate for its expedited confirmation of General Musa yesterday. His appointment comes at a critical juncture in our lives as a Nation. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Tinubu said.
Politics Nigeria recalls that the Senate on Wednesday confirmed General Christopher G. Musa, our immediate past Chief of Defence Staff as the new Minister of Defence in Nigeria.
