JUST IN: Osun governor, Ademola Adeleke, joins Accord Party
Ademola Adeleke, Osun state governor has formally announced his defection to the Accord Party.
The governor made the disclosure on Tuesday evening during a stakeholder meeting of the party in Osogbo, Osun state.
Adeleke recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), blaming deepening internal crises for his departure.
His resignation was conveyed in a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, in Ede North Local Government Area, where he officially withdrew from the party on November 4, 2025.
In the letter, Adeleke wrote: “Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect.”
The governor, who rose to prominence under the PDP, also expressed appreciation for the opportunities the party provided throughout his political career.
