BREAKING: Terrorists Attack Communities in Katsina, Kill and Abduct Several Residents
Terrorists suspected to be bandits have stormed several communities in Katsina State, killing and injuring residents and abducting others during coordinated night attacks.
The attacks occurred on Monday night when heavily armed assailants invaded the affected areas, operating for hours and wreaking havoc on the communities.
According to a security alert shared on Tuesday by Bakatsine, the terrorists attacked Unguwar Alhaji Barau, Gidan Dan Mai-gizo, and Gidan Hazo communities, all located in Na’alma Ward of Malumfashi Local Government Area.
Katsina State has remained one of the epicentres of banditry and violent attacks in Nigeria’s Northwest region, despite repeated assurances from security agencies and government authorities that efforts are ongoing to restore peace.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies were yet to issue an official statement on the incident, and the exact number of casualties and abducted persons remains unclear.
Earlier reports indicated that terrorists had attacked Unguwar Daudu community in Dukke Ward of Funtua Local Government Area, injuring two residents and abducting at least 20 others.
