BREAKING: Heavy Security At Kano Gov’t House Ahead Of Gov Yusuf’s Planned Defection
There was heavy deployment of security operatives at the Kano State Government House on Monday amid reports of the planned defection by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Daily Trust observed the presence of combined security personnel drawn from the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) at the main entrance of the Government House.
Although the planned defection has not been officially confirmed, the governor is widely believed to be considering a move to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Our correspondent observed that at least seven Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) belonging to the police and the DSS were stationed at strategic points, including the main gate, and the roundabout leading to the Government House.
Security checks were also intensified, with access to the Government House subjected to strict identification procedures by security operatives.(Daily trust)
