EKEDC appoints Wola Joseph-Condotti as interim CEO
The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) says it has appointed Wola Joseph-Condotti as interim chief executive officer (CEO) of the firm.
In a statement on Wednesday by Babatunde Lasaki, EKEDC spokesperson, the company said Joseph-Condotti will replace Rekhiat Momoh, who stepped down from her position as CEO of the firm.
According to the statement, Joseph-Condotti’s tenure will commence immediately, reflecting the “board’s confidence in her leadership capability, deep institutional knowledge, and clear focus on operational continuity, growth, and stakeholder satisfaction”.
The electricity distribution company (DisCo) said her appointment is part of the leadership transition after Transgrid Enerco took over its board.
“The previous board by the previous majority shareholder, West Power and Gas Limited (WPG) led by Chairman Dere Otubu resigned today and gave way to the new board headed by Engr. (Dr.) Olubunmi Peters as Chairman, Prof. George Nwangwu, Faruk Aliyu, Kolapo Joseph and Rasheed Olaoluwa, while Ayo Gbeleyi remains as the Director representing the BPE on the board,” the statement reads.
The DisCo said Momoh’s tenure as CEO was marked by significant contributions to EKEDC’s operational development and service delivery improvements across the company’s franchise areas.
Prior to her appointment, Joseph-Condotti served as group managing director and CEO of West Power & Gas Limited, the previous parent company of EKEDC.
Joseph-Condotti had earlier served as the pioneer chief, legal and company secretariat at EKEDC, subsequently holding various positions including, head of regulatory compliance & chief human resources and administration officer.
The CEO holds a law degree from the University of Ibadan, a master of law (LLM) from Harvard Law school, and a master of business administration (MBA) from INSEAD Business school.
