Former United States Vice President Kamala Harris has accused President Donald Trump of pushing the country toward a war with Iran that she says lacks public support and threatens global stability.

In a statement posted Sunday on her X platform, Harris warned that the United States was being drawn into a “regime-change war” that could endanger American troops and undermine international standing.

“Donald Trump is dragging the United States into a war the American people do not want,” she said, adding that U.S. service members were being placed in harm’s way “for the sake of Trump’s war of choice.”

Harris described the potential conflict as “a dangerous and unnecessary gamble with American lives” that could destabilize the region and weaken America’s position globally. She argued that the current approach reflects “recklessness dressed up as resolve,” rather than strength.

While acknowledging Iran’s threat and insisting it must never acquire nuclear weapons, Harris said military escalation was not the appropriate solution. She also criticized Trump’s past claims about ending wars and dismantling Iran’s nuclear program, calling them false.

The former vice president expressed support for U.S. troops deployed on hazardous missions, saying they deserve leadership that approaches decisions on war and peace with steadiness and discipline.

Harris further emphasized constitutional requirements, stating that the U.S. president must obtain congressional authorization before entering a war. She argued that even with such approval, the military action would remain unjustified and unwise.

Calling for legislative intervention, Harris urged Congress to use its полном powers to prevent further escalation, saying Americans, allies, and service members “deserve nothing less.”
