Fire Outbreak At Head Of Service Building In Abuja
A fire incident on Monday morning affected a section of the Federal Secretariat complex in Abuja, causing brief panic among workers and visitors in the area.
The fire was reported at about 8:20 a.m. at Section C of the complex, which houses parts of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
According to witnesses, thick plumes of black smoke were seen rising from the affected section of the building shortly after the incident began.
Some staff members were observed leaving nearby offices as a precaution while emergency responders were alerted to the situation.
The media department of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation confirmed the incident, stating that the outbreak was confined to Section C of the building.
According to the office, emergency officials were already at the scene working to contain the situation and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the complex.
“The fire outbreak is limited to Section C of the building and is currently being attended to by emergency officials,” the office said in a brief statement.
Authorities had not yet disclosed the cause of the fire as of the time this report was filed.
