Atiku’s Son Adamu Abubakar Joins ADC Ahead of 2027
Former Adamawa State commissioner Adamu Abubakar, son of ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Adamu Abubakar resigned from the PDP on Thursday and, within hours, completed his online registration with the ADC, the party in which his father is reportedly seeking to contest the 2027 presidential election.
In a post on X on Thursday night, Adamu Abubakar called on his supporters and well-wishers to follow him by registering with the ADC, emphasising a shared commitment to good governance and national development.
“All my supporters and well-wishers should join me by registering with the ADC as we work together to advance the cause of good governance and national development,” Adamu Abubakar wrote.
The move underscores a strategic political alignment within the Abubakar family ahead of the 2027 elections and is likely to draw significant attention in Nigerian political circles.
