British MP Corbyn Files Gaza Tribunal Report With ICC, Alleges UK Complicit In War Crimes, Genocide
Former UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has announced the submission of the Gaza Tribunal Report to the International Criminal Court (ICC), alleging that the United Kingdom may be complicit in war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide in Gaza.
Corbyn disclosed this in a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday, stating that the report exposes “the full scale of Britain’s complicity in genocide.”
“Complicity demands consequences. That’s why, today, we submitted The Gaza Tribunal report to the International Criminal Court,” he said.
The report was formally addressed to ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan, urging the court to examine evidence presented by The Gaza Tribunal, a body that convened in London in September 2025 to document testimonies from survivors, witnesses and experts on the situation in Gaza.
According to the document, the tribunal gathered extensive evidence alleging widespread violations, including the “deliberate and near total destruction of the healthcare system in Gaza,” the collapse of the education sector, the targeting of journalists and the creation of famine conditions.
The report further claims that these actions amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
It also alleges that the UK government played a role in enabling these violations through a range of actions, including the sale and transfer of weapons, intelligence cooperation, and continued diplomatic support for Israel.
“The report goes on to uncover the full scale of Britain’s involvement in these atrocities,” the document stated, citing arms exports, Royal Air Force surveillance operations over Gaza, and the use of British air bases for transport and refuelling of military equipment.
The authors further accused the UK of failing to impose sanctions or deploy diplomatic pressure to halt what they described as Israel’s “illegal occupation” of Palestinian territories.
In the submission, the report’s co-authors, namely Corbyn, Dr. Shahd Hammouri and Professor Neve Gordon, argued that as a signatory to the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute of the ICC, the UK bears heightened legal responsibility to prevent violations of international humanitarian law.
The document asserts that the British government “has failed in its fundamental legal obligation to prevent genocide,” alleging that such failure contributed to “the mass killing of Palestinian civilians and the wholesale destruction of civilian objects.”
It added that evidence presented could implicate British ministers and officials who authorised continued economic ties, arms transfers and intelligence sharing.
“We are writing to affirm our commitment to work with the ICC in relation to the evidence presented in this report,” the authors said, calling for accountability and further investigation.
The submission also emphasised that the Gaza Tribunal aims to serve as a “historical repository of evidence” to support international justice efforts and mobilise global action.
The development is expected to intensify debate over the role of Western governments in the ongoing conflict and raise fresh questions about accountability under international law.
Corbyn has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Islington North since 1983. He currently sits as an independent and serves as the parliamentary leader of Your Party, which he co-founded with Zarah Sultana in July 2025.
