Security agencies in Kwara State have been placed on high alert following intelligence reports indicating that suspected terrorists are planning coordinated attacks on three local government areas in the Kwara South Senatorial District.

The attacks are believed to target Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin Local Government Areas, with the assailants reportedly planning simultaneous strikes on March 23 and March 28, 2026.

SaharaReporters gathered that security operatives across the affected areas have been alerted, and precautionary measures are being intensified to prevent any potential assaults on the communities.

The alert was issued on Saturday by the Coordinator of the Joint Security Watch, Elder Olaitan Oyin-Zubair, who urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities.

According to the statement, authorities, including the Kwara State Police Command, the chairmen of Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin LGAs, and other security agencies have been formally notified.

“In view of the speculative bandits’ attacks on March 23, 2026, and March 28, authorities, including the Kwara State Police Command, the chairmen of Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin LGAs, and other security agencies, have been notified and are taking necessary precautions to protect citizens.

“We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

“Your safety is our priority. Let’s work together to keep our communities safe.

“Stay safe, stay alert.”

Community leaders and local security networks are also collaborating with law enforcement agencies to ensure early detection of any movements linked to the suspected terrorists.

Residents in the affected areas have been advised to stay calm but alert, avoiding panic while monitoring unusual activities, as security agencies intensify surveillance operations across the region.

This development comes amid growing concerns over armed groups and bandit activities expanding into North Central Nigeria, prompting several states to strengthen local security measures.

As of filing this report, the Kwara State Police Command has not released an official public statement on the intelligence report. However, sources indicate that internal security operations have already been activated across the targeted areas.
