Russia is sending Iran intelligence to prolong war – Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Russia is passing intelligence to Iran in an effort to prolong the war in the Middle East.
Citing the Ukrainian HUR military intelligence service, Zelensky said in his evening video address that there was further evidence that Russia was continuing to support the Iranian leadership with intelligence.
Zelensky also said he had been briefed by the SBU intelligence service.
Russia’s war against Ukraine must not be allowed to benefit from the geopolitical situation and the crisis in oil prices, he said.
He thanked Ukrainian soldiers for the “accuracy” of their attacks on Russian oil facilities, which are vital for Moscow’s war chest.
Zelensky also warned Ukrainians that Russia might be planning a major strike, citing intelligence information.
Ukraine has been fending off a full-scale Russian invasion since February 2022.
