Top leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday arrived in Kano ahead of the planned defection of former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the party.
The delegation, comprising prominent political figures, was received at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport by the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
Among those in the delegation were former Senate President and ADC National Chairman, David Mark; ADC National Secretary and former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; Peter Obi, former Anambra Governor.
Others include former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Senator Dino Melaye; former APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun; and former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha.
The visiting politicians later proceeded to Miller Road residence of Kwankwaso in Kano metropolis, where final preparations were underway for his official defection to the ADC.
The development signals a major political realignment ahead of future elections, with key opposition figures converging in Kano for the event.
