Though Challenging, Tinubu’s Reforms Laying Foundation For Progress – Northern Govs
The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, says President Bola Tinubu’s reforms may be challenging but they are laying foundation for progress.
Reaffirming the forum’s support for Tinubu, Inuwa praised the President for “his reform-oriented leadership” as he clocks 74.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, described President Tinubu’s leadership as courageous, focused and pivotal to Nigeria’s long-term stability and economic transformation.
Governor Inuwa noted that since assuming office, the President has shown strong determination in implementing far-reaching reforms aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy and strengthening critical institutions.
He acknowledged that while the reforms have come with certain challenges and sacrifices, they are essential steps toward building a more stable and prosperous future for Nigerians.
According to him, the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” has continued to rekindle confidence among citizens, while setting a clear path for inclusive growth, national cohesion and sustainable development.
The NSGF chairman stressed that Gombe State, in collaboration with other northern states, remains fully committed to supporting the successful implementation of the President’s policies and programmes.
“The bold decisions taken by Mr President reflect a leadership driven by conviction and a genuine desire to secure a better future for the nation. Though challenging, these reforms are already laying a solid foundation for sustainable progress,” he said.
He further reiterated the collective backing of northern governors for the continuity of the President’s reform agenda beyond the current administration.
“We in Gombe State, alongside our colleagues in the Northern States Governors’ Forum, appreciate your support to subnational governments and your inclusive approach to governance. We stand firmly with you and reaffirm our unwavering support for your leadership and vision, both now and in the future,” he added.
Governor Inuwa also prayed for good health, strength and wisdom for President Tinubu as he continues to steer the affairs of the country.
