2027: APC Group Tips Yusuf Buhari For Rep
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sandamu Local Government Area of Katsina State have moved to consolidate the party’s unity ahead of the 2027 elections, throwing their weight behind Yusuf Buhari, the son of Former President of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari, as the preferred candidate for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting held at the Sandamu Local Government secretariat, which brought together elected officials and political appointees across the federal constituency.
While addressing participants, the council chairman, Usman Na Lado, described the endorsement as a collective resolution reached by the stakeholders, who aim to strengthen the party’s chances at the polls.
He noted that Yusuf Buhari’s candidacy was considered suitable based on his perceived capacity and acceptance among party stakeholders.
He explained that beyond the House of Representatives seat, the meeting also reaffirmed support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umar Radda as the party’s standard flag bearers for the presidency and governorship seats, respectively, in the 2027 general elections.
He further revealed that the stakeholders also backed the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasiru Yahaya Daura, for the Daura Senatorial seat, adding that the endorsements signal early preparations for the 2027 general elections, urging party loyalists to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts.
However, reliable sources within the party revealed that the endorsement of Yusuf Buhari is a clear directive from the governor.
According to the source, Yusuf Buhari is the state governor’s anointed candidate.(Daily trust)
