I like BBL but I’m scared to do it, says Funke Akindele
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has opened up about her thoughts on the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
Speaking during the latest episode of The Morayo Show, hosted by Morayo Afolabi–Brown, the filmmaker admitted she likes BBL but is terrified of going under the knife.
The Jenifa star said she appreciates women who enhance their bodies through cosmetic surgery, as long as it’s done in moderation and with proper medical caution.
However, she confessed that her low pain tolerance is the main reason she hasn’t had the procedure.
“I love to see beautiful women with beautiful bodies. I actually like BBL – the skinny ones, not the big ones. I love the flat tummy and liposuction. I want to do it, but I don’t have the mind,” Akindele said.
She made it clear she is not judging anyone who chooses surgery.
“I am not against BBL. If you want to enhance your beauty, go ahead, but don’t overdo things. Be careful,” she added.
Her remarks follow the death of Elena Jessica, who passed away from severe complications following a BBL procedure.
The actress also opened up about her personality and approach to relationships.
Akindele admitted that while she isn’t entirely proud of her tendency to cut people off, she is learning to strike a balance.
She noted that although relationships remain important to her, she is continuously learning and prioritizing her well-being.
“I am an extremist, I love so hard. I am real, I am not perfect, I can be troublesome. I am tough, if I want you to do something… When my mum was alive, she used say ‘Funke, everybody cannot be like you. Everybody cannot be as smart or as fast you, calm down. It is good but calm down’,” she added.
“So human relationship for me is very important and I am learning everyday but note, no matter what happens my mental health is my priority and you know I am getting older.”(TheCable)
