4 Family Members Killed In Attack On Benue Community
Four members of the same family have been reportedly killed in a fresh midnight attack by armed invaders on the Imande community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Our correspondent gathered that the victims include a woman and her three sons, who were allegedly shot dead around 2am on Tuesday at Imande Dem settlement along Gbajimba Road in Uvir Council Ward.
Locals said the family were asleep when the attackers invaded their home.
The locals also said that the affected household already had their patriarch killed similarly during a previous invasion of the village.
A witness, who preferred anonymity, explained that one young boy, believed to be the only survivor in the family, sustained gunshot wounds during the attack and is currently undergoing surgery to remove bullets.
Chairman of Guma LGA, Orwough Maurice, could not comment on the incident as his phone line was unreachable at the time of filing this report.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Udeme Edet, said she was yet to receive any such reports and promised to revert to our correspondent after making necessary contacts.
