Trump Talks Too Much, Says Iranian Minister

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Saeed Khatibzadeh, has taken a swipe at US President Donald Trump, accusing him of making inconsistent and excessive statements amid rising tensions between both countries.

According to Al Jazeera, he said this while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey.

Khatibzadeh reportedly dismissed Trump’s recent remarks suggesting the United States could “start dropping bombs again” if no agreement is reached with Iran by Wednesday.

“The US president talks too much,” Khatibzadeh said, adding that Trump’s comments lacked clarity.

“He said contradictory things within the same statement. I don’t know exactly what he meant.”

Despite the rhetoric, the Iranian official maintained that Tehran does not seek conflict, stressing that war would not produce any meaningful gains.

“Iran believes war cannot lead to any positive outcome,” he said.

“However, we are prepared to defend ourselves if we come under attack.”

Khatibzadeh warned that Iran would not hesitate to respond to any aggression, declaring, “We will fight until the last Iranian soldier.”

His remarks come at a time of heightened uncertainty, as both nations continue to exchange sharp rhetoric, raising concerns over the possibility of further escalation in the region.(Daily trust)
