Troops killed terrorists, recovered arms in Kaduna ambush – Army
The Nigerian Army says troops killed two suspected terrorists and recovered weapons during a successful ambush operation in the Doruwa Babuje area of Kaduna.
An operational report disclosed this on Wednesday.
The report revealed that the operation was carried out on Tuesday following credible intelligence on the movement of armed criminals known for attacking residents, including robbery and sexual violence.
According to the report, troops laid an ambush around the Marit general area and engaged the suspects as they approached.
“Troops sprang the ambush and neutralised two of the armed bandits, while others fled the scene. Items recovered from the suspects include a fabricated rifle, five rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a cutlass, a jack knife, and a mobile phone,” the report said.
The report added that troops maintained their positions in the general areas of Marit and Lajam villages, with patrols ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The operation, according to the report, is part of sustained efforts to curb criminal activities and enhance security within the area.
