18 wives captured as ISWAP and Boko Haram terrorists battle in Borno
Fresh internal conflict has been reported between two rival terrorist factions, ISWAP and JAS, following a violent confrontation in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that at about 3:41 p.m. on April 28 indicated that ISWAP fighters captured 18 spouses of JAS members during a clash at a location identified as “Markas” in Bama.
The sources disclosed that the development followed sustained exchanges between the two groups, leading to reported losses of dependents on both sides.
According to the sources, intelligence monitoring of the situation is ongoing, with indications that the infighting has further weakened coordination among the terrorist factions in the area.
They added that troops operating in the sector and adjoining locations are expected to exploit the situation to further degrade the groups’ capabilities and deny them freedom of action. (Zagazola)
