We Are Investigating Slain Corps Member’s Death – NYSC
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it is actively engaging with relevant security agencies to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the death of a Corps Member, Abdulsamad Jamiu (NS/25A/2904), who lost his life during a military operation at Shagari Estate, Dei-Dei, Abuja, in the early hours of Sunday, 26 April 2026.
Jamiu was serving at Government Junior Secondary School, Bakin Ado, Nasarawa State.
In a statement signed by management of the scheme, the NYSC said it is committed to the safety, security, and welfare of all Corps Members and staff across the country.
The management said efforts would continue to be strengthened in collaboration with security and intelligence agencies to mitigate risks and enhance protection nationwide.
“The NYSC stands in solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult period and prays for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased,” the statement read.
