Benue Head Of Service, Ode Dies At 78
Civil servants and politicians in Benue State have continued to mourn the demise of Head Of Service, Agbogbo Ode who died at the of 78.
He reportedly died at the age of 78 on Saturday morning after a brief illness.
His demise was announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Deaconess Deborah Aber.
Aber, on behalf of the Benue State government, said the senior public servant died in the early hours of Saturday, May 2, 2026.
The statement described the late Ode as a seasoned technocrat whose contributions to the state civil service were marked by diligence, professionalism and dedication to duty.
The state government described the death as significant loss to the public service and the state at large, noting that his expertise and leadership would be greatly missed.
The government also extended its condolences to the family of the deceased, associates and the entire civil service in Benue State and prayed for the repose of his soul.
