Gyokeres, Saka Fire Arsenal Six Points Clear At EPL Summit
Viktor Gyokeres scored twice and provided an assist as Arsenal cruised to a 3–0 victory over Fulham in the English Premier League on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
The in-form striker led the charge in the London derby, becoming the first Arsenal forward since Alexis Sanchez in the 2014/15 season to score 20 or more goals in his debut campaign. Bukayo Saka also found the net on his 200th Premier League appearance and registered an assist in his first league start since March.
Gyokeres opened the scoring in the ninth minute, tapping home from close range after excellent work by Saka on the right. The England winger then doubled the lead, curling in a fine effort from a Gyokeres pass. The Swedish striker completed his brace with a header from a cross by Leandro Trossard to seal Arsenal’s third.
Manager Mikel Arteta withdrew both Gyokeres and Saka after their first-half contributions, with one eye on the upcoming UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg.
The Gunners secured their 17th clean sheet of the season and moved six points clear of second-placed Manchester City, who have two games in hand, with three matchweeks remaining in the title race.
