Lagos 2027: Desmond Elliot picks nomination form for Surulere re-election bid
The lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Olushola Elliot, has declared his intention to seek re-election in the forthcoming legislative polls.
Elliot made the announcement in a post shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, confirming that he has obtained the nomination form to contest for another term.
He explained that his decision is anchored on his commitment to public service and a desire to build on what he described as the developmental strides achieved in Surulere Constituency I.
The lawmaker noted that a return to the Assembly would elevate his status to that of a ranking member, a position he said would attract additional benefits to the constituency.
“My going back makes me automatically a ranking member and loads of benefits come to our constituency as a result of this feat,” he stated.
Elliot also expressed gratitude to party leaders, ward executives, community leaders, youth and women groups, as well as other stakeholders for their continued support, which he described as instrumental to his political career.
He urged his supporters to remain peaceful and focused throughout the electoral process, stressing the importance of unity and mutual respect.
“Our strength has always been in our togetherness, and I am confident that same spirit will guide us again,” he added.
