As Muslims across Nigeria and around the world prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered a stirring message of sacrifice, unity, national renewal, and hope, assuring Nigerians that the country is emerging from difficult times into a brighter future.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message released from the State House on Tuesday, President Tinubu said the sacrifices made by Nigerians and his administration over the last three years were beginning to yield positive results, including economic stability, increased investor confidence, and improved prospects for job creation.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the President declared.

Tinubu described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred reminder of the virtues demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim — faith, obedience, sacrifice, compassion, and total devotion to God.

He urged Nigerians, irrespective of religion or ethnicity, to embrace unity, selflessness, and mercy toward one another, stressing that no nation can progress without collective sacrifice and compassion for the less privileged.

According to the President, the ongoing reforms introduced by his administration may be difficult, but they are necessary steps toward rebuilding and renewing Nigeria for future generations.

He expressed confidence that the reforms would continue to deliver improved security, economic opportunities, and national prosperity.

Speaking on insecurity, Tinubu acknowledged that terrorists and bandits still pose threats in some communities despite intensified military operations and recent successes recorded by security agencies, including the elimination of a wanted ISIS leader.

“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.

The President also called on Nigerians to use the Eid celebration to pray for peace, wisdom for leaders, and national unity, while urging those involved in criminal activities to abandon violence or face the full weight of the law.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to nation-building, Tinubu promised continued investments in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development to unlock Nigeria’s full potential.

He concluded by wishing Muslims a peaceful, joyous, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah accepts the sacrifices and prayers of the faithful.

“Eid Mubarak! Happy Sallah!” the President said.
