APC denies list of successful primary election candidates in circulation
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned a purported list of successful candidates from its recently conducted primaries currently in circulation, describing it as fake and unauthorised.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, stressing that the APC has not released any official list of winners from its primaries.
“The APC hereby informs the general public that it has not released the official list of successful candidates from its recently conducted primaries,” he said.
Morka urged party members, stakeholders, and the general public to disregard any publication or report claiming to announce the outcome of the primaries.
He explained that successful candidates would be duly notified through the party’s official communication channels, after which certificates of return would be issued in line with established procedures.
The APC spokesperson further advised the public to rely solely on verified information from the party.
Meanwhile, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its portal for political parties to upload the names of candidates who emerged from their primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Although the APC maintained that its official list is yet to be released, NAN gathered from party sources that internal collation and verification processes are ongoing, pending the public announcement.
According to the source, the party found it necessary to distance itself from the circulating list in order to curb misinformation and prevent confusion among aspirants, members, and the electorate.
