‘I Do Not Fear Death’ — Reno Omokri Responds to Social Media User’s Grim Prediction
Nigerian author and Ambassador-Designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has responded to a social media user who suggested that he “may not live long,” dismissing the comment with a message centered on faith, mortality, and personal conviction.
Replying to the user, whom he addressed as Chinonso, Omokri said the circumstances surrounding his birth and death remain solely in the hands of God.
“When, where, how and why I will die are the exclusive preserve of Almighty God. I don’t bother about such things. I was not consulted before I was born, nor would the Creator confer with me before permitting my death.”
Omokri further stated that he does not fear death, adding that no one can harm him outside God’s will.
“Nobody can do anything to me except what God permits. Therefore, I do not fear death.”
Emphasizing his outlook on life, he revealed that he has climbed five mountains known for fatal accidents, saying his experiences have reinforced his belief that every person’s lifespan is determined by God.
He concluded by saying he remains focused on self-development rather than worrying about death.
“I am too focused on self-development to care when death will come.”
Omokri ended his response on a conciliatory note, thanking the social media user for the comment and offering a prayer for God’s blessings.
The exchange has since attracted reactions online, with many users commending his measured response while others continued to debate the appropriateness of making predictions about another person’s death on social media.
