Spain Humble France 2-0 To Reach World Cup Final
Spain has reached the 2026 World Cup final with a 2-0 win over France at Dallas stadium.
Goals from Mikel Oryazabal and Pedro Porro sunk the French ships as the Spanish Armada did not allow France’s front three to reach their first final since 2010 with a dominant display.
Spain has won seven of their last 11 matches against France and they went ahead on 22 minutes when Lucas Digne fouled Lamine Yamal in the box, allowing Oryazabal score for 1-0.
The second goal did not arrive until the 58th minute through a well-worked team goal started and finished by Porro. The full back started the move in defence with a pass under pressure, and continued his run that was left untracked, allowing the Tottenham player to collect Dani Olmo’s pass and coolly slot a low shot around an outstretched Mike Maignan into the right corner of the net.
France could not lay a hand on the Spaniards despite their array of attacking talent and ten shots at goal.
They fail to qualify for a third consecutive World Cup final on a night coach Didier Deschamps became the manager to manage the highest number of matches in World Cup history.
Luis de la Fuente’s Spain will face either Argentina or England in the final on Sunday, July 19 for a chance to win its second World Cup trophy.
