Gbajabiamila honours ICPC’s invitation over PFIPC
The Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Femi Gbajabiamila, has honoured the invitation of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) over the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The Principal Counsel of Jiti Ogunye Chambers, Jiti Ogunye, confirmed this on Monday in a statement he issued to newsmen.
According to Ogunye, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives was at the office of the ICPC in Abuja on Monday at 3pm.
He said: “In full cooperation with the ICPC acting as directed by the President of Nigeria, I hereby confirm that my client, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, responded to the invitation of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and appeared at about 15:00hrs on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of the ongoing investigation into the activities of the ‘PFIPC’ fake agency, among others.
“My client gave his testimony, responded to questions accordingly, and has returned to his duty post.”
The Eagle Online recalls that the self-styled Director General of the PFIPC, Adeniyi Adeyemi, accused Gbajabiamila of collecting N400 million from him for the documentation of the controversial agency.
Adeyemi, however, said he did not meet the CoS personally while the transaction lasted.
He has since been arrested by the police, arraigned, and remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre.
