Armed Militants Kill Three, Critically Injure Pastor, Two Others In Fresh Plateau Attack

Suspected armed militants launched an attack on Daffo District in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State on Thursday night, killing three residents and leaving a pastor and two other victims critically injured in a fresh wave of violence that has continued to plague communities in the state.

SaharaReporters gathered that the coordinated attack occurred on Thursday night, throwing residents into panic as heavily armed assailants stormed parts of the community.

The latest assault reportedly came just hours after three people had already been killed in another part of the Daffo community, highlighting the escalating insecurity in the area.

Confirming the incident on Friday, conflict reporter Masara Kim disclosed that the attackers, identified as suspected terrorists, invaded Fubok, a community in Daffo District, where they unleashed violence on residents.

According to Kim, the assailants attacked Fubok late on Thursday evening, shortly after carrying out an earlier deadly assault elsewhere within the district.

“Armed Fulani terrorists reportedly invaded Fubok, part of Daffo District, late Thursday evening, hours after killing three residents of another part of the community, leaving a pastor and his members for dead,” Kim said.

The pastor and two other victims were said to have sustained severe injuries during the attack and were left in critical condition.

The latest incident has generated fears among residents of Bokkos Local Government Area, one of the worst-hit areas in Plateau State, where repeated attacks on rural communities have resulted in numerous deaths, injuries and the displacement of thousands of people.

The renewed violence comes amid growing concerns over persistent attacks on farming communities across Plateau State, despite repeated assurances by authorities that security measures have been strengthened to protect lives and property. (SaharaReporters)
