Tinubu has outperformed any democratically elected president… he inherited an economy in a mess – Felix Morka
Felix Morka, national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has claimed that President Bola Tinubu has “outperformed” any democratically elected president in Nigeria.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television on Monday, Morka said Tinubu inherited an economy that was “completely in a mess”.
Asked about the indicators supporting his claim about Tinubu’s performance, Morka said the indicators speak for themselves.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has outperformed any president in his first term. He has outperformed any democratically elected president in this country in their terms,” he said.
“The indicators are res ipsa loquitur as we say in law; they speak for themselves. This president inherited an economy that was completely in a mess.”
The APC spokesperson said the country’s economy had been in a mess as a result of the activities of successive administrations.
“Buhari was a stopgap president that really came to keep the country from tipping over the precipice — from 16 years of horrific maladministration of the PDP government,” he added.
“President Buhari served his term, did his job to hold the country still for President Tinubu to enter.”
Morka claimed that Tinubu had transformed the country to the point where his critics are now commending his administration.
The APC spokesperson said Nigeria had “come out of the woods” on a macroeconomic level owing to the policies of Tinubu administration.
He, however, did not explain how Tinubu has “outperformed” previous Nigerian presidents.
The APC-led administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari ruled between 2015 and 2023. The Tinubu-led government succeeded Buhari in 2023 under the same party. (TheCable)
