Why was I sold N50m Ogun guber nomination form if I was suspended? – Abayomi Hunye asks APC

Abayomi Hunye, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun, says the party sold him a N50 million nomination form before declaring him suspended.

In a statement on Monday, Ajibola Basiru, national secretary of the APC, said Hunye was suspended from the party on April 7 following a petition from his ward in Tube, Ipokia LGA of Ogun state.

Basiru described Hunye as an impostor and reaffirmed Solomon Adeola, better known as Yayi, as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.

But speaking when he featured on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Hunye said he was screened and cleared to participate in the May 21 APC governorship primary in the state.

“If they agreed on the consensus arrangement, why was the form sold to me? I got the form [for] 50 million naira,” he said.

“I have the receipt. I got the nomination form and the expression of interest form, filled everything out, and returned them. I was invited for screening. On the screening list, my number is 52. Yayi’s number is 53.

“How can you be suspended on April 7, and on April 28, you collected money from me and gave me a form? And on May 15, you asked me to come for screening.”

On April 13, Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, announced Adeola, senator representing Ogun west, as the preferred governorship candidate of the APC for the 2027 elections in the state. (TheCable)
