Atiku’s lobbyist makes U-turn, reposts deleted Trump’s appointment
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s lobbyist, Karl Von Batten, has reposted on social media his appointment as a commissioner to a White House presidential commission.
Von Batten made the repost late Sunday, 24 hours after he had earlier deleted the appointment post.
He had claimed that he removed the post after the White House informed him that the Nigerian government had repeatedly called to complain about the appointment.
However, checks on the verified X account of his firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C., where the post was deleted, showed that it is currently available.
The post read: “We are glad to announce that on August 31, 2026, Dr Von Batten was appointed by President Donald J. Trump to serve as a Commissioner on the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.
“We will remain grateful to the most consequential American President in our lifetime for choosing to honor Dr Von Batten with that appointment.
“God bless America, and may all who oppose her fail.”
DAILY POST reports that Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C. is the firm investigating the alleged drug trafficking case linked to Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu.(Daily post)
