Soludo pardons jailed Anambra native doctor, Akwa Okuko, appoints him youth ambassador

Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has pardoned the jailed native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki and appointed him youth ambassador.

Nwangwu was among eight native doctors arrested last year for their alleged involvement in encouraging money ritual, as well as promoting quick wealth and use of human parts for wealth acquisition.

During his trial, Nwangwu entered a plea bargain and was later handed a light sentence of 11 months.

While serving his sentence at the Nigeria Correctional Center, Amawbia, Nwangwu was also given the condition of renouncing his fetish practice and to become an ambassador of youth reformation.

He accepted the conditions and was serving his prison term until he received Governor Soludo’s pardon under the prerogative of mercy.

Special Adviser to the governor on Youth Reformation, Dr Nelson Omenugha, said Soludo paid a visit to the correctional center during which he announced the pardon.

Omenugha commended the governor for graciously extending hand of mercy to Chidozie Nwangwu and giving him a new responsibility as Ambassador for Youth Reformation in the state.
