BREAKING: Police arrest Rochas Okorocha at Abuja Hotel over alleged forgery, impersonation
Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha, has been reportedly arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.
A Daily Sun online report said he was arrested last night, Monday, October 12, 2026, at REIZ Continental Hotel in central Abuja, over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
“The arrest comes after the former governor reportedly evaded repeated police invitations in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation, prompting the police to obtain a bench warrant for his arrest,” the report said.
It recalled that Okorocha was initially invited to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on September 2, 2026, but the appointment was rescheduled to September 8 at the request of his lawyers, a date he failed to honour.
