Nigerian Man Daniel Olowookere Jailed Six Years In UK For Raping Two Girls Under 12
A Nigerian man, Daniel Olowookere, has been sentenced to six years in prison in the United Kingdom after pleading guilty to raping two girls, both under the age of 12.
According to a post published on X on Tuesday by Nigerian Community UK, Olowookere, who is from Blackley, appeared before Manchester Crown Court, where he initially denied the allegations before eventually changing his plea to guilty.
During the sentencing, witnesses reportedly described Olowookere as showing “zero remorse”, alleging that he shook his head as the judge delivered the prison sentence.
The report stated that Olowookere, who moved to the UK from Nigeria, had his cultural background raised by his defence team as a mitigating factor during sentencing.
However, the judge reportedly stressed that nothing could excuse the sexual abuse of children.
Investigators have also warned that there may be additional victims and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
