Tinubu campaign secretariat vandalised •Campaign materials destroyed, windows shattered
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu–Kehinde Olaosebikan Grassroots Movement (PBAT-KO Movement) in Ibadan, Oyo State, has claimed that hoodlums have vandalised its secretariat and destroyed campaign materials and shattered windows.
The movement, in a statement issued today by its Publicity Secretary, Femi Omolola, said members discovered the damage when they visited the office after the incident.
According to Omolola, the incident occurred at the movement’s secretariat, located at the CICU Building, Olomi-Olojuoro Road, Oluyole Local Government Area, reports The Guardian.
It alleged that the attackers were suspected agents of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), although it did not provide evidence to substantiate the allegation.
Conducting journalists around the building, Omolola said the incident would not discourage the group from mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
“We are undaunted. We are totally committed. Nothing can stop us in our staunch decision to give our very best in support of the President,” he said.
He added that the movement’s convener, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, and its members remained committed to increasing the votes secured by Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
Olaosebikan, a former chairman of Oluyole Local Government, also served as chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State during the 2023 election.
Omolola said the movement was established late last year to mobilise grassroots support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition and had since extended its activities across Oluyole Local Government and beyond.
He expressed confidence in the president’s leadership, arguing that the administration had laid a foundation for national development over the past three years.
He also described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a formidable political platform for the President’s re-election campaign.
The movement reiterated its commitment to its mobilisation activities despite the reported vandalism.
