Campaign against Peter Obi in Anambra is an effort in futility — NDC
The Anambra State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated unequivocally that campaigns against the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, are efforts in futility.
This was top on the agenda during the formal inauguration of the Obi/Kwankwanso Presidential Campaign Council Anambra State in Awka.
Chairman of the party and former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikem Uzoezie, said indeed it would amount to an effort in futility should anyone attempt to campaign against Peter Obi because he has an impeccable character and a reputation that commands global acceptance.
Uzoezie explained that Peter Obi has marketed himself in Anambra State in the last 16 years as governor and as past governor, noting that Peter Obi is no longer a candidate in the forthcoming general elections but a movement to deliver Nigeria from the precipice it found itself.
Uzoezie said that the message is already with the grassroots and Peter Obi will win massively in all the polling booths in Anambra State including the Southeast, stressing that the victory will be like a religious movement and that the baboons and dogs will meet in the forthcoming elections.
The Anambra State Coordinator of the Obi/Kwankwanso Presidential Campaign Council and former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Ifeanyi Anthony Ibezi, said NDC is focused and there is nothing like progressives working together in the state instead democrats, according to him, are working together in Anambra State.
Ibezi, who disclosed that he had earlier debunked the notion that progressives are working together in Anambra State, maintained that Anambra is a democratic state and that democrats are working together, adding that they will convert Anambra into a blue state.
He said NDC will practically demonstrate that Anambra is a blue state in the coming elections. Ibezi, who noted that Anambra State has 5,720 polling units, stressed that Peter Obi and other candidates of the party will win all the polling units in Anambra State.
The State Coordinator of the Obi/Kwankwanso Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra said that Nigerians have collectively and unanimously decided to reset the country and that the only person that has the capacity, technical know-how, knowledge and experience to reset and rescue Nigeria from maladministration and bad governance is Mr. Peter Obi.
He equally posited that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo will struggle to win his polling unit because the NDC wave, according to him, will subdue every attempt to subvert the electoral process. (Daily Independent)
