31-year-old woman kills her fiancé for inviting his former girlfriend to their wedding
A 31-year-old woman stabbed her fiance to death after he invited his former girlfriend to their wedding.
Jacqueline Souza and her boyfriend, Brandon Watkins, 33, were returning home from a bar, where they had gone to celebrate their upcoming wedding, in Las Vegas when they began fighting over the guest list.
The groom wanted to invite a woman he once had an affair with and Souza would have none of it.
Officers responding to a reported disturbance at a home on Cabana Circle found Watkins inside with traumatic injuries and he could not be saved. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been stabbed in the chest. A bloody steak knife lay on the kitchen table nearby.
The bride-to-be was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Reports said Souza had called 911 around 12:30 a.m. Saturday to report an “unknown urgent medical assist.”
When police arrived, they discovered Watkins unresponsive on the kitchen floor and a bloody steak knife on the table.
Souza — who was reportedly in the process of divorcing another man while planning her wedding to Watkins — said the groom wanted to invite a woman he once had an affair with, causing her to believe the relationship was ongoing.
