After Sokoto Airstrike, Middle Belt Stakeholder Calls On Trump To Eliminate Gumi, Other Terrorists Not In Bushes

Following the US airstrike in Sokoto, a former national coordinator of Middle Belt Patriots, Zariyi Yusuf has called on US President Donald Trump not to limit his actions to only terrorists in bushes but also target those he described as terrorists roaming freely in Nigeria including controversial Islamic cleric Sheikh Gumi.

The airstrike, which was carried out on Christmas day, targeted ISIS-linked militant camps in Sokoto State.

Gumi has been a vocal critic of the airstrike, describing it as a “war against Islam” and urging the Nigerian government to halt military cooperation with the US.

He also warned that foreign military involvement could polarize the country and undermine national sovereignty.

Meanwhile responding in a recent televised interview, Yusuf said it was not enough to bomb terrorists in bushes alone if sympathisers are spared by President Trump.
