‘He’s one of our own’ — OGIRS tussles with LIRS over Laycon’s tax
The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) has engaged the Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) in a tussle for the tax of Laycon, winner of this year’s edition of BBNaija.
Laycon, whose real name is Olamilekan Agbelesebioba, snagged the reality show’s N85 million grand prize on Sunday night.
Less than 24 hours after he was declared winner, the LIRS had in its congratulatory message to the ‘Fierce’ crooner, reminded him of his tax.
There was however drama on Tuesday as the OGIRS took to its Twitter page to call Laycon one of its own in another tax reminder.
“…OGIRS is delighted to congratulate one of our own in the State, Olamilekan Agbelesebioba, AKA @itsLaycon for emerging winner of @BBNaija Lockdown,” the tax agency wrote.
“We look forward to having a robust relationship with you in the year 2021 as you pay your tax.”
Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, had earlier described Laycon as “our own” while describing his triumph at the reality show as a confirmation of his brilliance.
“I am delighted to congratulate one of our own in Ogun State, Olamilekan Agbelesebioba, AKA @itslaycon for emerging winner of Big Brother Naija Lockdown,” Abiodun had said in a statement via his Facebook page.
“The pacesetter that you are, you have emerged one of the best in academic and social engagements, so this victory is aptly a confirmation of your brilliance, intellect and maturity.” (The Cable Lifestyle)
